Palestine, Ecocide and
Interspecies Liberation
Symposium
organized by Terike Haapoja, Rania Lee Khalil
and cinema antiplastique

This symposium marks the first in a series of events to take place over years to come, where we as a group of artists, organizers, scientists, farmers, children and more come together to dream, reflect, engage and connect until Palestine is free.

We proceed from the understanding that ecocide is a key mechanism of all colonization, with interspecies liberation a viable alternative. We focus on Palestine not as exceptional or of more importance than other occupied and colonized lands, yet rather as a highly visible entry point to the tactics and violence of EuroAmerican settler colonialism in the 21st century.

Starting points include the normalization of genocide and ecocide within the stolen lands known as the United States today, as well as the role of the US project as blueprint for the occupying forces of the State of Israel.  Using examples including African revolutions and decolonization, we’ll think together on the Palestinian Right of Return.  In terms of environmental justice, we’ll think together on interspecies repatriation worldwide.

All sessions within this event are free of charge and for the people (ie. conversational, creative, non-academic). This symposium iincludes nature walks, events for children, talks and conversations, film screenings and cinema antiplastique’s intuitive movement workshops.
